QLF soils event 8th November 2017

You are invited to a pioneering biological soils event, with presentations from world renowned expert Gary Zimmer, ‘The Father of Biological Farming’ and hosted by farmer Tim Parton.

The one-day event, held in Staffordshire, will review the merits of biological farming, incorporating presentations from the ‘father’ of biological agriculture, Gary Zimmer, focusing on soil health and improved forage quality, as well as a crop walk with the opportunity for delegates to see first-hand biological farming practises.

Event speakers:

Gary Zimmer

Gary Zimmer is an internationally known author, speaker and consultant. He operates an award winning 1,000-acre farm near Wisconsin, USA focusing on biological farming principles.

Gary’s passion for soil health lead him to become the founder of Midwestern Bioag, a leading biological farming company that looks to balance soil to produce healthy, pest and disease resistant crops while reducing the use of chemicals.

Tim Parton

Tim Parton, farm manager of Brewood Park Farm, Coven, Staffordshire has kindly agreed to host this farm walk on biological farming and soil health.

With 750 acres of sandy and clay loams, growing mainly wheat, OSR, beans and lupins, Tim has been focusing on increasing soil organic matter and soil carbon since 2010.
He is passionate about soil and plant health and was joint winner of the 2017 Soil Farmer of the Year Award.
