Dairy Cow Protein Products

QLF’s protein supplements contain various levels of QLF’s ‘Timed-Release‘ protein and are ideal in rations needing either high levels of supplemental protein or sources of soluble protein, where other ration protein sources are high by-pass. These products help to increase rumen efficiency by supplying rumen micro-organisms with a constant supply of energy and non-protein nitrogen.

QLF’s ‘Timed-Release‘ protein is unique as the protein source is bonded and releases over a similar time period to soya. This is different from other protein liquids on the market.

Q-Pro Range

QLF’s Q-PRO range are designed for situations where dietary crude protein is required with less of an emphasis  on supplementing sugar. The Q-PRO range contains QLF’s unique (link) Timed Release protein which provides a cost effective rumen degradable protein (RDP). The thinner nature of the Q-PRO range offers producers a means to supply a greater content of liquid if required whilst supplying a concentrated source of RDP.

QLF’s Timed Release Protein ranges are designed to drive dry matter digestibility, improve rumen health and re-balance starch and protein in the rumen. Timed Release Protein consists of a urea phosphate solution, creating a bond which will slow down the breakdown of urea into ammonia in the rumen. This leads to a more efficient utilisation of urea, with less being absorbed into the bloodstream as excess ammonia.

All feed rates must be approved by your QLF merchant or representative as they will be dependant on your ration and livestock being fed.

The product should be introduced gradually to acclimatise the rumen, typically in the first 1-3 days, 15% of target feed rate should be included. This should then increase to 40% (target feed rate) for days 4-6, 70% for days 7-9 and 100% after 10 days. Please confirm with your QLF Merchant or representative.

These products are available from 5 to 27 tonne bulk loads and typically have a 3 month use by date. Product delivery is normally on QLF Articulated vehicles though short articulated vehicles are available on request. All products are suitable for storage in a QLF supplied tank, please see the equipment section for more details. Custom products are available on request.

TMR Range

QLF’s TMR products are designed for use in UK dairy diets as high protein, high sugar supplements and use UK sourced beet molasses as a base which has a good natural protein content. Higher protein levels are achieved using QLF’s unique ‘Timed Release’ protein.

Quali-Pro Range

QLF’s Quali-Pro range have various levels of ‘Timed-Release’ protein but with lower sugar and lower DM. This is ideal for situations where sugar is less of a concern and as such represent a very cost efficient source of protein. With lower sugar, the viscosity of the products is decreased, making it easy to mix and handle in any situation. As it is a condensed concentrated product, it will also take up less space in the rumen. This is room for dry matter in the form of more forage or bypass protein.
