High Sugar, High Energy Products

Feeding a liquid with a high sugar content provides an economical source of carbohydrate and aids the optimal balance of types required by the cow. QLF liquids provide a quick energy source to rumen microbes in the form of ‘6 – carbon’ sugars, which helps to improves fibre digestion, thereby increasing microbial protein production.

The Dairy SugR range combines these ‘6 – carbon’ sugars with lactose and vitamins and minerals to aid rumen function; the ‘Simply Sugar’ products offer a good, simple sugar source. In cases where a high level of energy is required, QLF has developed the Energizer range (with suspended Palm Oil) and the Glycermol range (with glycerine), both alowing an increased energy density of the ration to be achieved.

Dairy SugR Range

The Dairy SugR range sets the benchmark for QLF’s premium, high sugar liquid feeds. QLF’s Dairy SugR products contain ‘dual sugars’ – a combination of sucrose and lactose along with vitamins and minerals, all of which is designed to aid rumen function.

As Fed Dry Matter
Protein % Sugar % DM Protein % Sugar % Vit & Min Est ME Litres / Te
Dairy SugR 35 3.5 35 58 6 60 Cattle 12.8 795

Dairy SugR 41 3.5 41 68 5 60 Cattle 12.9 765

All feed rates must be approved by your QLF merchant or representative as they will be dependant on your ration and livestock being fed. Feed rates shown in the table below are typical rates for indication only.

Typical Feed Rates (Kg/head/day) Suitable Feeding Methods
Dairy Beef Sheep Youngstock Lick-tank Pour On TMR Mix
Dairy SugR 35 1.5 1 x 0.75 On Request
Dairy SugR 38 1.5 1 x 0.75 On Request
Dairy SugR 41 1.5 1 x 0.75 On Request

The product should be introduced gradually to acclimatise the rumen, typically in the first 1-3 days, 30% of target feed rate should be included. This should then increase to 60% (target feed rate) for days 4-6, 90% for days 7-9 and 100% after 10 days. Please confirm with your QLF Merchant or representative.

The QLF Dairy SugR products are available from 1000L upto 28 tonne bulk loads All products within this range typically have a 3 month use by date. Product delivery is normally on QLF Articulated vehicles though short articulated vehicles are available on request. All products are suitable for storage in a QLF supplied tank, please see the equipment section for more details. Custom products are available on request.

Energizer Range

QLF Energizers offer a convenient and effective way of boosting energy to your TMR by their palm oil content. This unique range of fully suspended palm oil products allow increased energy density without the negative effects that other fat sources can have on fibre digestibility and without displacing any other solid feeds. Further more, by including palm oil in liquid form, the Energizers offer a further benefit by being completely dispersed throughout the TMR, thus reducing sorting which may happen if feeding alternative, solid palm flake.

As Fed Dry Matter
Protein % Sugar % Oil % DM Protein % Sugar % Vit & Min Est ME Litres / Te
Energizer 36:16 36 28 16 70 51 40 x 16.1 836

The product should be introduced gradually to acclimatise the rumen, typically in the first 1-3 days, 15% of target feed rate should be included. This should then increase to 40% (target feed rate) for days 4-6, 70% for days 7-9 and 100% after 10 days. Please confirm with your QLF Merchant or representative.

QLF Energizer products are available from 5 tonnes upto 28 tonne bulk loads. In order to ensure these products remain consistent we advise that no more than 6 weeks supply is taken at any time. QLF Glycermol Range

QLF’s Glycermol products are designed to increase the eneregy density of the ration whilst gainaing the inherent benefits of feeding glyscerine. Glycerine is a glucose pre-cursor and as such provides instant energy which can help to overcome a negative energy balance (N.E.B.). QLF’s Glycerine product can help to support fertility responses in early lactation and may help to reducin the risk of fatty liver and ketosis. By offering this energy in a very palatable liquid form, these products maybe used to replace calcium salt palm fats.
